The Beekmantown varsity wrestling team took runner-up honors over the weekend in the Michael Baker Classic, held at Essex, Vt. High School.

There were 32 teams competing and the Eagles finished second to champion Marshwood High School.

Beekmantown had 11 of its wrestlers place, with Jon Graziane, wrestling at 132, the only Eagle to win his weight class. Graziane became a four-time champion in the event.

Justin Steady, at 285, also made it to the finals and ended up finishing in second place.

Dylan Peryea (170), Gage Cook (182) and Bruce Goddeau (220) all placed third, while Anthony Cartee (113) was fourth.

Fifth-place finishes for Beekmantown went to Kaeden Peryea (99), Mike Cartee (106) and Eathan Bacon (138), while Jordan Daniels (99) and Brandon Defayette (195) placed sixth.
