MALTA €" Thomas J. (Joe) Kelley, 80, of Malta, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.

He was born Nov. 18, 1926, in Port Henry, the son of the late Harold P. and Luraine (Hedding) Kelley.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having fought in World War II.

Mr. Kelley was a New York State trooper for 25 years, retiring in 1975. He served in Troop B and Troop G.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Charlotte; a daughter, Maggi and her husband Nick Ruisi of Malta and the apple of his Irish eyes, granddaughter Carly Ruisi.

He was predeceased by three brothers, William (Bill) Kelley, John (Jack) Kelley and Robert (Rod) Kelley; and by four sisters, Helen Pratt, Frances Roach, Jean Stahl and Joan Gladd.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who held a special place in their hearts for Uncle Joe.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Balston Spa on Wednesday, April 25, at 9:30 a.m.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Saratoga.
