CLINTONVILLE — Braden Swan scored four touchdowns, and Maddox Blaise rushed for 171 yards in Moriah's 44-15 win over AuSable Valley in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football Friday.

On the final play of the first half, Swan caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from sophomore Mason Spring to give the Vikings (3-3) a 38-15 lead, and they never looked back.

Moriah piled up 254 rushing yards in the opening 24 minutes, and it finished with 350 yards on the ground.

Swan rushed for 101 yards and two scores, and the senior grabbed touchdown tosses from Blaise and Spring.

The Vikings held a 24-15 lead after a wild first quarter that saw both teams find the end zone five times.

The Patriots' (3-3) Luis Perez opened scoring on the first play from scrimmage, hauling in a 62-yard touchdown pass from Eli Douglas, and Moriah answered right back.

Two plays later, Swan reeled off an electrifying 65-yard run on his way to the end zone.

Swan and Spring recorded touchdown runs before Evan Snow gave AuSable Valley its last score on a 1-yard plunge.

Blaise went over the 1,000-yard mark on a 27-yard run early in the second quarter, and he stands atop the conference leaderboard with 1,111 yards through six weeks.

Jim Carlson holds the school's single-season rushing record, when he rolled up 1,630 yards in 2008.

The Vikings' defense held the Patriots to 174 yards, and Moriah did not allow AuSable Valley to score over the last three quarters.

Perez was a bright spot for the Patriots, accounting for four catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.
