Saranac soccer registration soon
SARANAC — The Town of Saranac will hold registration for soccer at the Town Hall from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on July 13 and July 21.
Coaches are needed for all ages. Also, a Youth Commission will be held prior to Wednesday's sign-up, starting at 6 p.m.
Chazy Youth Hockey meeting July 14
CHAZY — Chazy Youth Hockey will hold its meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 at Scotts Rink.
Volleyball camp still has openings
ELLENBURG — The Cats and Dogs Volleyball Camp still has a few openings remaining.
The camp will be held from August 8 to August 12 at Northern Adirondack Central School. The modified and junior varsity camp will run fro 9 a.m. until noon and the varsity camp from 5-8 p.m.

Skating Club to offer lessons
PLATTSBURGH — The Skating Club of the Adirondacks will offer summer ice skating lessons for all ages and abilities at the Ameri-Can North Sports Center this summer.
The lessons will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5:45 p.m. and will run from July 12 through Aug. 11.

NYSEF offers freestyle training camps
LAKE PLACID — The New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF) will offer three freestyle training camps at the Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid this summer.
Camps will be offered July 16 through July 19, Aug. 1 through Aug. 5 and Aug. 13 through Aug. 15. Each camp will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are available to all skiers and snowboarders ages 10 and up. Rates start at $150 per camp.
All applicants must be USASA or USSA members. A USASA membership can be purchased online for $65.

Preseason soccer camp offered
ROUSES POINT — Friends of North Country soccer will offer a 3-week preseason soccer camp and 6 vs. 6 jamboree for any players preparing for the Fall 2011 modified or JV soccer seasons.
The camp, which consists of a workout, skill sessions, 6 vs. 6 games and a cool down, will begin July 25 and run through Aug. 14. It will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. four to five nights per week and will be split between the Rouses Point Rec Center and Moores. Locations for different nights will be determined prior to the start of the camp.
Registration is free but is limited to the first 30 players to sign up.

AC North has openings for August camps
PLATTSBURGH — The Ameri-Can North Sports Center still has openings for it's August hockey camps.
All camps are directed by Todd Bone and instructors include Owen Fussey, Jason Williams, Kelley Steadman and area highschool players. All camps are under $200 to attend, and discounts are available for families with more than one participant and for repeat attendees. Amoriell, Duprey lead time trials
PLATTSBURGH — Jason Amoriell posted a time of 24:05 to take first place in the 10-mile Bicycle Time Trials on July 6.
Mary Duprey was second with at time of 24:40 followed by Jerry Macner at 25:14. Lynne Murray was the second place female with a time of 26:16.
The weekly Wednesday event is free and open to all novice and experienced riders, road bikes or mountain bikes. Helmets are mandatory and all riders must obey the rules of the road. Sign up starts around 5:30 p.m. at Point au Roche firehouse with the first rider going out at 6 p.m.

Hornets' Basketball Camp scheduled
PLATTSBURGH — The Hornets' Basketball Camp will be held at the Plattsburgh High School gymnasium for all boys entering grades 7 to 9 from July 18 through July 22 and for boys entering grades 10 to 12 from July 25 through July 29.

Altona soccer camp to be held July 22
ALTONA — Altona Youth Soccer Camp will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 22 at Feinberg Park.
The camp is open to all with a $40 cost per camper. Registration and payment are due by Friday, July 15.
