Wednesday ‘Walk about Town’

PLATTSBURGH — The Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club is inviting the public to take part in its “Walk about Town” on Wednesday, April 15. Those who wish to participate in the walk around the Plattsburgh neighborhood should meet at 3 p.m. near the steps of City Hall. The leader of the group will be Lynn Valenti.

PORT KENT — Harmony Golf Club currently has two openings for its Tuesday Night Men’s League. The league is a two-person team, scramble format with handicap, and it begins on May 12.

Saranac track team participates in preseason invitational

ALBANY — Saranac recently took four athletes to the CBA/LaSalle track and field invitational, which was hosted by SUNY Albany.

The Saranac 4x100 relay placed second behind Colonie with a time of 46.83 seconds. The Chiefs’ 4x400 relay also finished second with a 3:42.20 time, finishing only behind Guilderland.

Senior speedster Justin Liechty ran the open 200-meter dash in 22.57 seconds, placing second.
