Seton Catholic 5K, fun run

PLATTSBURGH — The Knights’ Joust 5K and 1-mile fun run will take place Sunday, Oct. 6, at PARC Oval.

All proceeds will benefit the Seton Catholic Booster Club.

Race start time is 11:45 a.m. for the fun run and 12:15 p.m. for the 5k.

Pre-registration is now open online at adirondackcoastevents.com.

SCS Booster Club golf tournament

PERU — The Saranac Booster Club is having its fall classic golf tournament Sunday Sept. 15.

The format will be a four-person scramble and the tournament will take place at Adirondack Golf & Country club.

The entry fee is $65.00 for non-members, and $45.00 for members which includes golfing, a cart and a barbecue dinner following the tournament.

There will be a raffle, 50-50 and mulligan tickets all available for purchase.

There will also be skins and prizes for the top three finishing teams.

Spots are still available.

Learn-to-swim program

PLATTSBURGH — The youth learn-to-swim program is open to children of the college community and general public.

The Saturday morning, eight-week program is structured to improve the swimming skills of children to make them safe in and around the water.

It will be held in Memorial Hall pool, and each session is 45 minutes.

The fall 2019 dates for the program are Sept. 14, 21 and 28, Oct. 5, 19 and 26 and Nov. 2 and 9.

To enroll, children must be five years of age, 47 inches tall and comfortable to go underwater.

Children enrolled in level two will be measured the first class period and tested for comfort in water.

The cost is $50 per student.

Make-A-Wish tournament results

PLATTSBURGH — The 22nd annual Make-A-Wish/Naked Turtle Golf Tournament was held July 17 at The Barracks Golf Course.

Those who participated and donated helped raise $20,000 toward Make-A-Wish.
