Preseason coaching form deadline today
PLATTSBURGH — Today is the last day for coaches for varsity winter sports to submit a preseason coaching form to the Press-Republican.
The form can be found at https://www.pressrepublican.com/site/preseason_coaching_form.html.
Coaches are asked to fill this form out as soon as possible to assure the Press-Republican sports department can release season previews for various sports in a timely fashion.

Gough competes on Oneonta women's soccer team
ONEONTA — Taylor Gough of Elizabethtown competed on the SUNY Oneonta women's soccer team during the recently completed 2019 season.
The SUNY Oneonta women's soccer team finished with a season record of 6-10-3 overall and 4-5 in the SUNYAC.
The team qualified for the conference tournament as the No. 6 seed.
Gough played in six games this season.
Spear, Herons head to national semifinals
GREENSBORO, NC — Junior Sam Spear of Peru is among 32 members of the William Smith College soccer team heading to Greensboro, N.C., for the semifinal round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship.
The Herons are 20-1-1 overall on the season and are making their 11th trip to the national semifinals.
William Smith will take on Pomona-Pitzer on Friday, Dec. 6 at 1:45 p.m.
Spear, a graduate of Peru High School, has played in two games this season.
A psychology major, she has seen action in five career games.
William Smith enters the semifinal riding a 16-game win streak, the longest active streak in Division III.
The Herons rank third in the nation in goals against average (0.27), third in shutout percentage (.773) and fourth in winning percentage (.932).
William Smith’s 20 wins and 17 shutouts are tied for third on the program’s single-season list.
