Beez Team tryout dates

PLATTSBURGH — The Beez Soccer Club has announced open tryouts for the 2019-2020 season.

Tryouts will be held at Melissa L. Penfield Park July 21 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and July 28 from 9:35 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Both dates are rain or shine.

Registrations and tryouts are for all players, boys and girls (current, former and prospective), born between 2004 and 2009.

Players will be allowed to try out only in his or her appropriate age division.

Players will be evaluated by the Club's athletic expertise, trainers and coaching staff.

All players participating at tryouts should bring a soccer ball and plenty of water.

Also wear black shorts, black socks, shin guards, white T-shirt and soccer cleats.

Copies of registrations form, player contract and medical release form will be available at tryouts.

Outdoor outing planned

CHAMPLAIN — Join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club for a day on the new Northern Tier Recreational Trail to hike, bike, stroll or roll.

The trail is good for walking, running or biking. The outing starts in the village of Champlain and goes all the way to Rouses Point.

Participants can turn around whenever they would like.

Youth Bureau lists fall recreation vacancies

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau is looking to fill the following fall recreation positions.

The positions include, "Recreation Assistant (Soccer - Field)" and "Recreation Supervisor (Soccer - Referee Clinics)."

River Run Mini Triathlon Aug. 10

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department and the Town of Saranac are hosting the inaugural River Run Mini Triathlon Aug. 10.

In the tri. participants will get to experience kayaking down the Saranac River, a run to Cadyville Recreation Park and a bike back to the Saranac Park.

Pre-registration is required with all proceeds benefiting the Saranac River Trail Greenway. The cost is $30 for individuals and $60 per team. Space is limited to 100 entries, and those interested must register by July 19.

7:30 - 8:30 a.m.- Check in and drop off bike at Cadyville Recreation Park.

8 - 8:45 a.m.- Drop off boat to Saranac Boat Launch (Bowen Rd, Saranac) and park car at Saranac Central School (60 Picketts Corners Rd, Saranac).

9 a.m.- Mini Triathlon begins at Saranac Boat Launch.

1 p.m.- Awards, music, food trucks at Cadyville Recreation Park.
