Paddle board lesson offered

CADYVILLE — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department is doing a paddle board lesson.

In the lesson, participants will learn how to hold and use a paddle correctly, how to safely get on and off the paddle board and how to properly put life jackets on and size them.

The class is July 18. It will be held at the Cadyville Beach (2145 Route 3 Plattsburgh) from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Cost is $10 if those interested wish to borrow a paddle board from the Town of Plattsburgh Recreation and Parks Department. It is free if participants choose to bring a paddle board.

Classes are limited to the first four participants.

Senior kayaking lesson July 11

CADYVILLE — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department is doing a senior kayaking lesson.

Participants will learn how to hold and use a paddle correctly, how to safely get in and out of the kayak and how to properly put lifejackets on and size them.

The class is July 11. It will be held at the Cadyville Beach (2145 Route 3 Plattsburgh) from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Cost is $10 if those interested wish to borrow a kayak from the Town of Plattsburgh Recreation and Parks Department. It is free if participants bring a kayak.

Classes are limited to the first eight participants.

Moonlight Paddle scheduled

SARANAC — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department is doing a moonlight paddle down the Saranac River.

During the moonlight paddle, participants will each get a light stick to put on their boat and join fellow kayakers paddling into the moonrise.

The trip is July 15. It will be held at the Saranac River – Saranac Boat Launch (192 Bowen Rd Saranac) from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Cost is $10 if those interested wish to borrow a kayak from the Town of Plattsburgh Recreation and Parks Department. It is free if participants bring a kayak.

Youth Disc Golf Summer Program announced

CADYVILLE — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department is doing a Youth Disc Golf Summer Program.

Participants will learn how to hold and throw the disc, what each disc means (putter and mid-range disc) and what each tee means (Red, White and Blue).

The class is July 16 through 19. It will be held at the Cadyville Recreation Park (16 Amell Ln Cadyville) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The program is open to all youth ages 10 to 18. Cost is $15 for a town resident and $40 for a non-town resident.

Youth fall soccer registration

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department and the Town of Schuyler Falls is hosting a Youth Soccer Program this fall.

In the program children will learn how to dribble, shoot, pass and develop teamwork. The league will start practices in mid-August, and games will begin in September.

Cost is $10 per player and only open to residents of Towns of Plattsburgh and Schuyler Falls.

Ride for the River July 21
