PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Tennis Association hosted its annual doubles tournament last weekend at Macdonough Courts.
There were three classes of competition contested.
In the men's open bracket, the six teams played a round robin, and Chirag Patel and Adam Waterhouse and Mike and Alex Racine ended with 4-1 records.
With a head-to-head tiebreaker, Patel and Waterhouse were declared champions with the Racines as runner-up.
Other teams competing in the open class were Gotschall-Bonnabesse, Rine-Nuzzo, Whalen-Whalen and Gorman-Nowosielski.
The women's class also had a five-team, round-robin format.
Due to the rain on Sunday, a few of the matches were unable to be completed.
The team of Karen Waterbury and Leigh Kennedy were the champions, winning all four of their matches while only losing nine games en route to the title.
The mother-daughter team of Linda and Mary McAuliffe were runner-up.
Other teams competing were Gottschall-Graves, Cutaiar-Nieto and Bonnabesse-Gottschall.
The men's B division consisted of eight teams in a double-elimination format.
The B champions were Chuck Ko and Seth Spoor.
Ko and Spoor went 4-0 in the tournament with two of their matches going the distance.
The runner-up was the brother team of Tetreault and Tetreault, who after losing their first match, came back to win four straight before going down in the finals, 6-4 and 6-3, to Ko and Spoor.
Other teams competing in the Bs were: Moore-Gebhardt, Vogl-Courson, Garrow-Chavez and Bedard-Mossey.
