CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton boys’ singles players swept their competition Tuesday.
Brendan Boutin, Troy Tetreault and Jordan Brilotti each recorded two-set wins as the Cougars defeated Saranac in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference tennis 3-2.
“Our seniors continue to come through for us in singles, and we managed a very solid Saranac team,” Northeastern Clinton coach Dan Gallagher said.
The Chiefs settled the score in doubles competition, though.
Jack Malek and Mason Martin defeated Jacob Mossey and Michael Kopp 6-3 and 6-0 before Schyler Gratto and Gabe Gratto won by forfeit.
In girls’ competition, Saranac earned a 5-0 victory.
Led by Kayla Napper, the Chiefs swept singles play. Anna Dorrance and Amie Eggleston also added match wins.
In No. 1 doubles, Olivia Klooster and Tricia Lottie defeated Meara McManus and Rylee Pinsoneault 7-5, 5-7 and 6-3, while Makenna Provost and Tori Bruno upended Danielle Rabideau and Skylynn Thompson 6-2 and 6-1 at No. 2.
