Miners top Padres for doubleheader sweep

SARANAC — The Miners jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back.

Noah Lambert paced Lyon Mountain with a game-high three hits, while Logan Matthews, Aaron Goldfarb and Keller Kowalowski added two.

The Miners’ Ethan King piled up eight strikeouts on the mound.

Matt Rivers led the Padres with two hits, and Shane Perrotte struck out six.

Lyon Mountain’s Jared Nichols and Connor Coty both had three hits, with Coty adding a triple.

The Miners’ Ryan Criss had two hits, including a triple, and four RBIs.

Parker Favreau and Ross McCallister had two hits for the Padres, and McCallister ripped a double.
