PLATTSBURGH -- A team from North Bowl Lanes recently took first place in Class B in the 39th-Annual New York State USBC Youth Team Championship Tournament at AMF Strike N Spare Lanes in Syracuse.

Over 1,000 teams were entered and there were four state champions crowned -- Class A, Class B, Class C and Scratch. North Bowl Lanes sent three teams -- A, B and scratch -- to the event which was held on Saturday, May 3.

Taking first place in Class B were the North Bowl Red Sox, consisting of Ryan Douglas, Jonathan Bowman, Taylor Chapple and James LaDuke, Jr.

The North Bowl team finished with a 2204 total, 30 pins ahead of the runner-up The Baggers, from Long Island.

LaDuke led the way with a 213-196-186-595 series, while Chapple rolled a 185-171-199-555.

Bowman's 193-203-149-545 series was the highest scratch score for boys' prep division bowlers.

Douglas added a 134-177-159-470 set and his 264 game, with handicap, was highest among all boys' prep bowlers.
