4th Ward Cardinals sweep Miners

LYON MOUNTAIN — The 4th Ward Cardinals swept the Lyon Mountain Miners Sunday in Champlain Valley Baseball League action.

The Cardinals defeated the Miners 6-3 in 10 innings in game one.

Joe Tolosky and CJ Worley both hit a double and finished with multiple hits to lead the Cardinals.

For the Miners, Keller Kowalowski racked up three hits.

In game two, the Cardinals blanked the Miners 11-0, as they plated seven runs in the third.

Alex Follmer totaled three hits and two RBIs.

SARANAC — Colby Boire hit a walk-off single with two outs in the ninth inning to propel the Padres over the A’s in game one of the doubleheader.

Andrew Kramer was the losing pitcher but led the A’s with a double.

The A’s turned back the Padres in game two using an eight-run first inning to set the tone.

Kramer earned the pitching win and finished with two hits.

For the Padres, Rylee Hollister registered two hits.

PLATTSBURGH — The Expos’ Billy Davis earned the pitching win, throwing seven innings of two-hit ball and fanning 10 in game one.

Davis also hit a double, and Mike Bordeau chipped in with a double.

For game two, Mike Bergman went the distance for the Expos and allowed no earned runs.

Mike Bordeau belted a double for the Expos, while three different players finished with multiple hits for the Cubs.
