Cornhole tournament Aug. 17

AUSABLE FORKS — Organizers have scheduled the inaugural AuSable Forks Cornhole Tournament to benefit the AuSable Valley baseball program’s field improvements.

The event will take place Aug. 17 at Billy Mitchell Memorial Field.

Entrants are limited to 64 for the random partner selection tournament and 32 for the team entry.

Participants will be selected on a first call/email entry basis.

Golf Classic on Friday

PLATTSBURGH — The Roman Catholic Community of St. Alexander and St. Joseph will have their 15th annual Golf Classic Friday at The Barracks Golf Course.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., and the putting contest begins at 11 a.m.

The tournament begins at noon followed by dinner, awards and prizes.

Four-person scramble July 26

LAKE PLACID — The Adirondack Health Foundation’s annual golf tournament will take place Friday, July 26, at the Crowne Plaza Resort’s Lake Placid Golf Club.

The tournament features a four-person scramble format on the Mountain and Links courses, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

Registration, which includes greens fees, cart, raffles, 50-50 drawing and barbecue lunch, is $100 per individual or $400 per four-person team.

Awards will also be presented for holes-in-one, longest drives and closest shots to the pin.

All proceeds from this year’s tournament will be used to purchase equipment and technology to build a comprehensive breast program and enhance services offered at Adirondack Health’s Women’s Health Center.

Kreckel sets fast time

POINT AU ROCHE — Eric Kreckel clocked in at 24 minutes, 40 seconds to complete 10 miles, claiming first place at this week’s time trial.

Corey Hamelin (24:42) and Jason Racine (24:52) completed the top three.

The time trials take place on Wednesday nights at the Point au Roche firehouse on Lakeshore Road.

The event is open to all novice and experienced riders, road bikes or mountain bikes.

Helmets are mandatory, and all riders must obey the rules of the road.

Registration begins around 5:30 p.m., with the first rider going out at 6 p.m.

Riders interested in the 25-mile event should be prepared to start between 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
