Pink Ribbon Day Tuesday

WILLSBORO — The Willsboro Women’s Golf Association will be hosting Pink Ribbon Day Tuesday at Willsboro Golf Course.

Women and men are invited for a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., and prizes and gifts will be awarded later in the day.

The suggested donation for this event is $20, plus you pay greens and cart fees.

St. Peter’s Golf Invitational

PERU — The 24th annual St. Peter’s Golf Invitational will be held Tuesday at Adirondack Golf Course.

Registration and putting contest will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:25 p.m.

The shotgun start is slated for 12:30 p.m.

5K run/walk Aug. 12

PLATTSBURGH — There will be a 5K fun run/walk around the U.S. Oval and surrounding trail on Monday, Aug. 12.

Registration will begin at 6 p.m.

The kids one mile fun run and walking portion of the event will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the 5K run starts at 7 p.m.

Donations begin at $20 up to Aug. 12th, $25 after and up to day of the run and $5 for the under-12 kids run.

Paper registrations are accepted at the Plattsburgh Recreation Center and Kinetic Running.

Armstrong sets fast time

POINT AU ROCHE — Ed Armstrong took first place in this week’s Point Au Roche time trial with a time of 25 minutes, 47 seconds.

Doug Hilderbrandt (29:08) and Kathleen Scott (31:00) rounded out the top three.

The time trials take place on Wednesday nights at the Point au Roche firehouse on Lakeshore Road.

The event is open to all novice and experienced riders, road bikes or mountain bikes.

Helmets are mandatory, and all riders must obey the rules of the road.

Registration begins around 5:30 p.m. with the first rider going out at 6 p.m.

Riders interested in the 25-mile event should be prepared to start between 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
