Saiz, Haley lead swim stars

PLATTSBURGH -- Plattsburgh High junior Hannah Saiz and Peru senior captain Christa Haley earned all-star honors in four events each to lead the selections for 2007 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls' swimming.

Saiz, who led the Hornets to a sweep of the CVAC and Section VII championships in the fall, was named to the All-CVAC team in the 200-yard medley relay, the 400 freestyle relay, the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Haley achieved all-conference status in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays, and the 100 and 500 freestyle events.

Plattsburgh's Simone Arvisais-Anhalt and Sara-Ann Wolf of Peru received all-CVAC in three events while seven swimmers were two-time all-stars. They include Megan Gadzuk-Shea, Bernice Robinson, Morgan Hyacinthe and Sarah Csipak of Plattsburgh; and Caitlin Houle and Kelsie Miller of Peru.

Megan O'Connor, the lone swimmer for Beekmantown, was designated an all-star in the 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley.
