PLATTSBURGH -- Plattsburgh High pulled off a sweep of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference tennis championships Tuesday, turning back old rival Northeastern Clinton to accomplish the feat.

In a battle of undefeates, the PHS girls won 4-1 while the boys prevailed over once-beaten Northeastern Clinton 3-2 to cap a perfect season for the Hornets in tennis.

All the boys' matches were decided in straight sets with Will Harris and Robert Lanzer winning in singles for PHS and John Curle and Frederick Ritter taking the No. 1 doubles match.

The Plattsburgh High girls' victory appeared more decisive; however, Kim Jones needed three sets to win at No. 1 singles and the No. 1 doubles team od Emily Higgins and Elle Rathbun had to win a 12-10 first-set tiebreaker.

Annette Liem and Maja Vuecelic went undefeated in singles for PHS during the season while Higgins and Rathbun were unbeaten in doubles.

PLATTSBURGH -- The Seton Catholic boys used the two doubles matches to pull out a victory over Peru at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse.

Stephanie Omlin and Becca Osborne picked up singles wins for the Peru girls while the Indians swept the doubles with Alice Robinson and Jenna Ruff, and Samantha Chung and Francine Price.
