PORT HENRY -- The Northeastern Clinton girls trailed for nearly the entire game before a Danielle Tierney double rallied the Cougars to victory.

Northeastern Clinton, down 3-1 heading into the seventh inning against Moriah (2-3, 0-2), pulled it out when Tierney delivered a two-RBI double to give the Cougars a 4-3 victory in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball Tuesday.

Kaylee Sprague held Northeastern Clinton at bay for most of the game, finishing with nine strikeouts and three walks, before giving up three runs in the seventh.

Jaylane Rabideau struck out six and walked five for Northeastern Clinton in the victory.

Magan Bechard, Tierney and Rachel Coryea each belted out two hits to lead the Cougars.

Ryan Wykes paced the Vikings with two hits while Courtney Waldron had a hit and two RBI.

ELLENBURG -- The Bobcats received plenty of hitting against a tough Kayleigh McGovern, as they defeated the Eagles for their first victory of the season.

Sarah Trudo and Kristen Brunell each had a pair of hits, including home runs, to lead the attack for Northern Adirondack (1-3, 1-1). Brunell had four RBI and Trudo, two, and a double.

Tia Hicks chipped in with three hits, including a double, and two RBI while Kayla Rabideau finished with a pair of singles. Katie Charland added a double for the Bobcats.

Brunell took the victory with four strikeouts and nine walks.

Shelbi Collin paced Beekmantown with a double.

PLATTSBURGH -- Jen Menard recorded four strikeouts and didn't walk a batter over the first six inning to earn the victory for the Hornets.

Dana Curle threw a perfect seventh inning to close it out.

Plattsburgh used a seven-run second inning to pull away from the Knights.

Hannah Emery and Ashley Rebideau each doubled and finished with two hits to lead the Hornets, while Kelly Weherenberg, Dana Curle and Jen Menard contributed two hits apiece.

Mary Emery paced the Knights (0-3, 0-2) with two hits.

Jessica Ewald led the way with a 3-for-3 performance and three RBI. Sacha LaBounty and Alyssa Felio each finished with three hits, with LaBounty scoring three runs and Felio, two. Lacey Tourville and Katlyn Kilkeary each had two hits.

Molly Ploof, Kindsley Dodson, Kristine Gaffney and Casey Fish each finished with two hits for Lake Placid (0-3, 0-2).

AUSABLE FORKS -- The Chiefs' offense exploded for 18 runs on 21 hits as they knocked off the Patriots.

Nicole Vann led the barrage with a 4-for-6 day, including a double, for Saranac (4-0, 2-0). Sami Stoughton added three hits and two RBI while Norlene Romeo chipped in with three hits and an RBI.

Danielle Fournia, Jessica Myers, Hilary Miner and Amanda Durocher each belted out a pair of hits. Myers had a double and knocked in four runs, and Fournia and Miner each had two RBI.

Tiffany Reyell struck out five, walked one and allowed four hits in getting the win.

Sam Signor paced AuSable Valley with a 2-for-3 performance. Brooke Pray added a hit and an RBI, and Nikki LaBarge finished with a hit and a run scored.

Collins also delivered a triple for Ticonderoga (9-2, 2-0) as the Sentinel bats exploded for 13 hits.

Morgan Jordan went 2-for-3 with three RBI, and Laura Olcott and Jessie Kelly each had a 2-for-4 day.

Olcott struck out five batters in relief over the final two innings.

Alissa Beideck suffered the loss while belting out a double. Ashley Isabella had Saranac Lake's other hit.

Swires took the pitching victory with two strikeouts and two walks while allowing four hits.

Morgan Robare paced Westport with two hits and two RBI while Alicia Hathaway and Stephanie Stevens each added a hit. Hathaway also had an RBI.

LAKE PLACID -- The Hornets scored in each of the first four innings to knock off the Blue Bombers in CVAC baseball.

Justin Mahan led the way for Plattsburgh with a pair of hits, including a double. Tory Bouyea, Jon Edwards and Jared Murphy each delivered a double.

Murphy picked up the victory on the hill for the Hornets in five innings of work.

Chris Hozley took the pitching loss while Josh Frederick paced Lake Placid (0-3, 0-2) with a double. Graham Butler finished with a pair of hits.
