PORT HENRY -- The Vikings wasted no time jumping on Lake Placid early, as Moriah shot out to a 27-1 lead after one quarter on its way to a 66-24 victory Tuesday in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys' basketball.

The big advantage allowed Moriah head coach Brian Cross to go to his reserves early with 12 players scoring for the Vikings.

"Our non-starters played a lot and shot the ball really well," Cross said.

Hayden Whalen led Moriah with 13 points, and Tyler Trombley added 11. Trombley hit three 3-pointers.

Logan Stephenson netted seven points for Lake Placid.
