WILLSBORO — Noel Williams dropped a game-high 18 points to propel Moriah to a 50-29 victory over Ticonderoga in the championship game of Judy's 9th annual Alzheimer's Awareness Girls Basketball Tournament Tuesday.

The non-conference win upped the Vikings record to 2-0, while the Sentinels dropped to 1-1.

"Our bench really stepped up in this game," Moriah coach Steve Pelkey said. "It was nice to see a lot of different people contribute."

Alexis Snyder pulled down eight rebounds.

Pelkey said Avery Briggs settled the Vikings down on offense, and Cassidy Rushby played well on defense.

Zoe Olcott notched six assists, and Williams piled up five steals.

"These two wins to start out the season certainly make us feel good," Pelkey said. "Our kids know they have a lot to work on and can do better. They have to keep that mindset moving forward."

Cassidy Mattison scored 10 points to pace Ticonderoga.
