TICONDEROGA -- The Ticonderoga Sentinels got back on the winning foot Tuesday in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference track & field.

Ticonderoga, upset by Northeastern Clinton last week, swept division rival Seton Catholic. The Sentinel boys (2-1, 2-0) beat Seton Catholic 86-41 while the girls (1-1, 1-0) pulled out a 64-59 victory. The Seton boys fell to 2-2, 1-2 while the girls dropped to 2-2, 2-1.

Patrick Dunn swept the hurdles and won the high jump while Lee Berube won the 800 and 1,600 and ran with the first-place 3,200 relay to lead the Ticonderoga boys.

Jamian Shapiro, Michael Lonergan and Shawn Ross were double winners with Ross reaching a personal-best of 135 feet, 6 inches in the discus.

The Ticonderoga girls overcame a quadruple winner Mary Kate Champagne and three-time winner Genna Hartung to ease past visiting Seton Catholic.

Samantha Plude, who tried the triple jump for the first time Monday, won that event to clinch the team victory for Ticonderoga. Emily Palmer, Lexi Reale, Elsie Phillips and Connie Belkevich all were double winners for the Sentinels.

Seton, with Champagne and Hartung, won the 400, 800, 1,500 and 3,000. Alexa Cosgro was a double winner.

PLATTSBURGH -- The Plattsburgh High girls swept the relays and went 1-2 in the triple jump and high jump to beat Saranac Lake and its four-time winner Hannah Sporn.

Amanda Maynard, Rabideau, Katrina Bouchard, Simone Arvisais-Anhalt, Alexis Harrington and Katie Stinson all were double winners for PHS.

Sporn swept the 100, 200 and 400 and also captured the long jump for the Red Storm. Rebecca Nashett doubled in the 1,500 and 3,000 while Heleni Kuma won the throws.

PERU -- The Beekmantown girls overcame a Peru sweep of the relays to remain undefeated while the Beekmantown boys, led by Jeff Stitt and Alex Banach, overwhelmed Peru to stay unbeaten.

Holly Black and Micayla McGinn were four-time winners for Peru while Justine Bardelcik and Megan Black each garnered two firsts.

Brittany Huber doubled in the 100 hurdles and long jump for Beekmantown while Bailey Weightman won the 1,500 and 3,000. The Eagles won with a strong showing in the field events. Rosilyn Cummings (triple jump), Kathryn McDuffie (shot put) and Ikeyanna Hamlin (discus) took firsts.

Junior Dominic Rainey doubled in the throws for the Peru, breaking the school record for the discus with a toss of 150 feet, 11 inches. Rainey also qualified for the state championships next month with the throw.

Beyond Rainey, it was all Beekmantown. Stitt ran with two winning relays and captured the triple jump and 800. Banach won the 100, 200 and 400 and added a first in the sprint relay. The foursome of Brian Drollette, Eric LaValley, Stitt and Banach put together a speedy time of 44.9 seconds to move to within a half second of the school record.

C.J. Quint, Nick Trombley, Eric Decelle, Brendan Courneene, Drollette and LaValley all were double winners.

SARANAC -- Turner Sasina and Kasey Garrand won two individual events to lead the Cougars to a narrow victory.

Casey McGibbon, Jon Streker, Jon Coupal and Ryan Sample won the 400 relay event, while Kyle Chambers and Nick Barcomb won idividual events.

Jason Pageau was a three-time winner for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs, however, got a win on the girls' side.

Kristie Pageau was a four-time winner for the Chiefs, while Amy McCasland was a three-time winner.

CLINTONVILLE -- Kyle Devins was a four-time winner, while Justin Capen was a three-time winner and Jason Reynolds won both throwing events to lead the Patriots past the Blue Bombers.

Josh Crosby was a two-time winner for the Blue Bombers.

On the girl's side, Katie McCallister and Lindsey Keyser were both four-time winners to pace the Patriots to the victory. Amanda Hamilton, Brittany Woodring and Michaela Bushey were all three-time winners.
