Eagles coast past Red Storm for 7-0 win

BEEKMANTOWN — Avery Durgan recorded four goals in Beekmantown's 7-0 defeat of Saranac Lake in Northern Soccer League play Tuesday.

Alexis Provost put one in the back of the net in the first half to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Beekmantown's Danielle Dyke and Emma McCasland each picked up a goal in the second half to push the Eagles even further ahead of the Red Storm.

Bailey Carter earned a five-save shutout for Beekmantown, and the Eagles outshot Saranac Lake, 22-5.

The Red Storm's Amya Hurteau stopped 15 shots.

PERU — Abby Bruce opened and closed scoring to propel the Indians past the Hornets.

Bruce notched her game-winning goal at the 31:38 mark of the second half to prevent overtime play and break the tie 2-2 tie.

Hayley Ladue and Aubrie Girard each tallied for Plattsburgh in the first half to give them a temporary lead.

Peru's Hannah Meyers came through and buried a goal to even the score.

“Tonight was a great win on Senior Night," Indians coach Amie Chase said. "We celebrated our eight seniors, and it was nice to send them off in our final home game of the regular season with a win. Our defense really played a strong second half of the game.”

LAKE PLACID — Lea O'Brien preserved the shutout for the Blue Bombers with six saves in net.

Dariana Patterson and Natalie Tavares each recorded a goal in the first half to give Lake Placid a 2-0 lead at halftime.

The Blue Bombers' Shannon Bentley and Kiera Levitt each tallied in the second half, and Lizzie Rich turned away 11 shots for the Sentinels.

“We played well offensively, and Lea O'Brien did a nice job in net when we were under pressure at the end of the game,” Lake Placid coach Heather Brewer said. “Ticonderoga's goalie made some tough saves throughout the game.”

WESTPORT — Lillian Huchro's second-half goal proved to be the game-winner in the Vikings' defeat of the Griffins.

Tied 2-all going into the second half, Analise Burdo notched a goal for Boquet Valley to pull them ahead.

Moriah's Reagan Garrsion put one in the back of the net at the 23-minute mark to even the score, and Huchro buried her goal with 6:20 remaining.

Paige Towns and Mikenna Valentine each registered a goal for the Vikings, and the Griffins' Skylar Bisselle and Abby Schwoebel each scored in the first half.

CHAZY — Madi Sequin scored the lone goal in the Bobcats' narrow victory over the Eagles.

Northern Adirondack's Madison Peryea found Sequin at the 31:51 mark of the first half.

“The play was very even and back-and-forth throughout the entire game. Madison Peryea played very well for the Bobcats,” Chazy coach Samantha Signor said. “Defensively we were strong, led by sweeper Mackenzie Chapman along with Callie Harvey, Katie Demers and Willow Herz.”

CROWN POINT — Lauren Kimball earned a hat trick in the Panthers' victory over the Indians.

Emily DeFelice tallied at the 19:12 mark of the first half to cushion the lead for Crown Point.

The Panthers' Eleanor Harmon totaled three saves for a clean sweep.

“Both teams played hard, and Wells put up a great effort even though they were short players,” Crown Point coach Jayna Andersen said.

“Alexis Brooks stood out for Wells. Crown Point's Emily DeFelice scored her first varsity goal, and Lauren Kimball scored her first hat trick.”

Emily Whitney found Summo six minutes into the second half for Keene.

BEEKMANTOWN — Leo Golden earned a hat trick, and Cole Nephew added a pair of goals in the first half for the Eagles.

Beekmantown's Niko Hart landed the sixth goal at the 38:17 mark of the second half, and the Eagles outshot the Patriots, 38-4.

Beekmantown's Matt Wood made three saves for the shutout.

SARANAC LAKE — Zashon Abrams notched the game-winning goal in the Chiefs' victory over the Red Storm.

Nikalas Hamel found Abrams at the 1:09 mark of the second half.

Saranac's Branden Ashley tallied seven saves for a clean sheet.

“A close game with chances at both ends,” Saranac Lake coach Brad Rafferty said. “The difference was that Saranac was able to cash in on one of their chances, and Saranac Lake was not. Jacob Schiraldi was very noticeable for Saranac, as he was one of the most effective players on the field.”
