CHAZY -- A long winning streak ended for the Crown Point girls' softball team Saturday.

Chazy handed the Panthers their first Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference Northern Division loss since the 2003 season -- a span of 44 games -- by rallying for a 10-7 win in the first game of a doubleheader.

Crown Point then took out its frustration in second game by pounding our five home runs in a 20-8 win to gain a split of the twinbill.

In the opener, the Eagles trailed, 7-4, after three before scoring four runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

Lindsey Seymour, who started on the mound for Chazy, went two-for-two in the victory, including a double. Sara Gravelle was the winning pitcher in relief.

Paige Dolback was two-for-two, with a double, for Crown Point, while Jordan McGinness and Jessica Potter also had doubles. Chelsea DuShane took the loss.

But, in the second game, the Panthers held a 3-1 lead and the broke it open with eight runs in the third inning.

Lindsay White rapped two home runs for Crown Point, while Britney Peters, Dolback and McGinness added one apiece. Potter chipped in with a triple.

Jonalee Ross was the winning pitcher and Gravelle took the loss.

Victoria Reynolds and Fagan Trombly accounted for three hits apiece for the Eagles, with Reynolds connecting for two doubles and Trombly, one.
