CHATEAUGAY -- The Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers pushed across two runs in the top of the ninth and then held on for a 9-8 victory over the Chateaugay Bulldogs Tuesday in Northern Athletic Conference baseball.

David Witherell singled and Seth Clothier doubled to open the ninth for the Panthers. One out later, Witherell scored on a sacrifice fly and then Clothier came on an error.

Chateaugay (5-7), which left the bases loaded in the sixth, threatened in the last of the ninth, putting runners on second and third with no outs. However, reliever Justin Pearson got the next batter to pop out to the shortstop and then struck out two to end the game.

Chateaugay scored four runs in the third with consecutive singles from Ryan LaBare, Kyle Demers, Brad Spinner and Drew Boyea.

Boyea wound up with three hits, including a double, while Demers had two hits.
