PLATTSBURGH — Analise Burdo and Abbey Schwoebel both scored 11 points in Boquet Valley's 41-32 defeat of Plattsburgh High, Tuesday, in a non-conference girls basketball game.

Burdo scored nine of the Griffins' 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Abbi Crahan powered the Hornets with a game-high 17 points.

Hornets coach Molly Flynn said Boquet Valley capitalized multiple times off Plattsburgh turnovers, but she also noted how her team has positives to take away from the game.

"We showed some moments of very good team basketball and will look to build as the season goes on," Flynn said.

CHAMPLAIN — Kya McComb (19) and Abby Racine (12) combined for 31 points, and the Cougars cruised.

"Overall, it was a great team effort," Northeastern Clinton coach Robb Garrand said.

"All of our players contributed to the team's success. Beekmantown always hustles right to the end and had a difficult time scoring the ball, however opportunities were there and presented a lot of speed. Our girls are working hard, and it is showing in their play."

Faith Whitney was the Eagles' leading scorer with five points.

Kira LaBarge totaled a game-high 14 points, and Isabella Gilmore chipped in with 10 of her own.

Deidra Kellerman led the Blue Bombers with 12 points, and Grace Crawford knocked down a trey and finished with five in the points category.

FORT ANN — Maria Baker's 20 points proved to be a difference maker for the Eagles.

Her 20 combined with Kate Van Auken's 14 points, which all came in the second half, helped Bolton pull out a win against the Cardinals.

Eagles coach Luke Schweickert complimented the defensive performance from Skyler Scott.

Alysha McGarr pulled down 14 boards for Bolton.

Fort Ann's Sarah Paige turned in 13 points.

SARANAC LAKE — Kelsey Leeret and Mecalyn Sousa each scored 10 points in the Red Storm's takedown of St. Regis Falls.

“It was nice to start the season off with a win,” Saranac Lake coach Chad LaDue said. “I thought our girls played very hard and shared the ball well.”

The Red Storm held a narrow lead at halftime, keeping St. Regis Falls back by only three points.

“Kelsey Leeret and Mecalyn Sousa had some big three-pointers for us with Alex LaDue having five assists (Tuesday),” LaDue said. “Nora Glover had 11 rebounds and Olivia Bell had nine.

“It's early in our season, and we will have to keep getting better each day.”
