CLINTONVILLE — Kaden Myers completed a 14-play, 66-yard drive with a 14-yard touchdown run to seal Beekmantown’s 27-18 win over AuSable Valley Friday.

The score supplied the Eagles with a two-possession lead with 2:05 left, and Nate Finley’s interception in the end zone extinguished the Patriots’ comeback bid.

Myers, who carried the football seven times on Beekmantown’s final scoring drive, crossed the goal line following a third-and-8 situation.

“Our best bet was to try to stretch it out, and Myers has got experience,” said Eagles coach Jamie Lozier, who earned his 50th win. “He’s been there before. I said, ‘Let’s give it to him and see what we have.’”

AuSable Valley, which faced a 20-6 deficit after the third quarter, pulled within 20-18 after long touchdown receptions from Eli Douglas and Luis Perez.

The Patriots had an opportunity to knot the score at 20-all on a 2-point conversion with 8:24 remaining, but an illegal substitution cost them 5 yards.

From there, Evan Snow’s pass attempt was batted down.

Beekmantown overcame a 6-0 hole and three first-half turnovers with three unanswered touchdowns to build a 20-6 lead with 4:16 left in the third quarter.

Connor McGinnis found the end zone on runs of 39 and 5 yards, and Garrett Stevens added a 19-yard touchdown run.

McGinnis finished with a game-high 70 yards and two scores.

Snow anchored the Patriots’ offense, completing 12 of 17 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns.

The Eagles will meet Ticonderoga, a 12-7 winner over Peru, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Plattsburgh High.

AuSable Valley will look to bounce back, when it faces Plattsburgh High on the road at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.
