CHAZY — Kylee Cassavaugh and Chelsea Provost led the way with two hits each as Elizabethtown-Lewis continued its winning ways with a 12-5 victory over Chazy Friday in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference softball.

Crystel Grady added a triple and winning pitcher Andrea Le Vien a double for the Lions (7-0, 7-0), who took the lead for good right away with three runs in the top of the first.

Astrid Kempainen and Hannah Latour paced the Eagles (2-5, 2-5) with three hits apiece and Emily Keable was the losing pitcher.

INDIAN LAKE — Murphy Farrell went 3-for-4 with a triple and Sierra Olbert was 2-for-4 with two runs-batted-in as the Orange (7-1, 7-0) stayed unbeaten while handing Bolton (5-1, 3-1) its first setback in conference play.

Both teams stranded 11 runners.

Winning pitcher Kaylie Miller struck out five, walked two and hit one batter to improve to 6-1. She helped her cause with a pair of triples. Emma Gray also went 2-for-4.

Charlotte Caldwell was 2-for-4 for Bolton (5-1, 3-1) and Rosie Denne had a double.

Tori Persons struck out four and walked five in absorbing the loss.

SCHROON LAKE — Jocelyn Bowen broke the game open with a two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth.

Schroon Lake gained a four-run lead after the hit, and two more Wildcat runs later in the inning put the game out of Willsboro's reach.

Rebecca Armstrong was solid at the mound for Schroon Lake, striking out eight batters. She didn't give up a hit after the fourth inning.

Armstrong also had three hits.

Abbey Vevorka, an eight-grader, had three RBI on three hits for the Wildcats (3-5).

Teammates Brianna Dezalia and Miranda Dezalia, both freshmen, had two singles apiece.

"An eighth-grader and two ninth-graders had seven combined hits," said Schroon Lake coach Jeff Cutting. "That makes a coach happy."

WELLS — Winning pitcher Sam Bartholf clubbed a home run and single to lead Wells (2-5, 1-5).

Macala Vrooman added three singles, Heather Abbott a double and single, and Lizzy Perkins two singles for Wells, which scored runs in every inning.

Amber Perry's leadoff single in the top of the first inning was the only hit for King's School.
