PLATTSBURGH — Ashley Carpenter scored two second-half goals, with Lindsey Bushey assisting on both, as the Peru Indians blanked the Seton Catholic Knights 2-0 Friday in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls' soccer.

Carpenter opened the scoring with 3:28 gone in the second stanza and made it 2-0 with a header off Lindsey Bushey's corner kick with 5:00 left.

Peru finished with a 28-4 edge in shots. Dani Dayton recorded one save for the shutout and Shannon Olsen had a strong game in net for Seton Catholic with 14 saves.

"Ashley Leta played well in the back for them and Lindsey (Bushey) was hard to handle," said Seton Catholic coach Jason Fenner.

"We were able to keep them on their toes. They had a big edge in shots, but we were able to hang in there and kept them off the board until the second half.

"Playing a strong team like Peru will make us better."
