BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown and AuSable Valley shared the 2013 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference crown after the Patriots knocked off the Eagles 3-2 a season ago.

The Eagles, however, have regained their spot atop of the CVAC standings.

Beekmantown knocked off AuSable Valley, 3-0, Tuesday for a season sweep of the Patriots and control of the league with seven matches to play.

“Beekmantown was dominant in the passing game (Tuesday),” Eagles coach Shana Hileman said. “Grace Kelly and Lydia Bailey were a dynamite duo on defense, combining for 60 digs.

“AuSable Valley tested our defense in delivering numerous cut shots and short hits.”

Kelly finished the match with nine points, an ace, five blocks, two assists, 15 kills and 37 digs. Bailey added nine points, an ace, seven assists, two kills and 23 digs.

Michaela Lafountain chipped in with five points, an ace, 12 digs and 30 assists on the night, while Brooke Bjelko added 14 kills.

Lindsay Brown paced the Patriots with three points, seven kills and 10 digs. Lizzy Maloney chipped in with five points, two aces, 18 digs and four assists, while Alexandra Lincoln finished with two kills and 24 digs.

“Lincoln and Maloney challenged our hitters with a majority of the digs for AuSable Valley,” Hileman said.

“We look forward to Thursday’s game versus Plattsburgh. We have played two intense matches — against Peru and AuSable Valley — and we anticipate another intense match versus Plattsburgh on Thursday.”

LAKE PLACID — Georgia O’Leary and Brenna Garrett helped lead the Blue Bombers to a victory over the Bobcats.

O’Leary finished with 13 points, three aces, eight kills and two digs, while Garrett added 13 points, three aces, eight kills and 13 assists. Kianna Fell chipped in with 11 points, five aces, four kills and 12 assists.

Kayla DeCoste paced Northern Adirondack with 12 points, four assists and five digs. Chelsey Trombley tallied 11 points, six digs, two aces and two kills.

SARANAC — Lauren Stanley had 15 points, 20 assists, eight digs and three aces as the Hornets swept the Chiefs.

Brianna Coon added 10 kills, nine digs, three points and two aces for Plattsburgh, while Amanda McMahon chipped in with 16 digs, nine kills and five points.

Anna Dorrance paced Saranac with 13 points, 19 digs, three aces and three kills. Kierna Evoy added 13 assists, while Kayla Byerley finished with 20 digs, nine kills and three points.

Meagan Gilbert led the charge with 11 points, three aces, six kills and three blocks. Jenny Cibula added 12 points, four digs and four blocks, while Taylor Higgins registered seven kills and four points.
