Thunderbirds extend winning streak

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Thunderbirds just keep winning.

Down by one in the top of the ninth, the New York Bucks loaded the bases, but Mohammed Hussein induced a 6-4-3 double play to seal the Thunderbirds' 10th straight victory with a 7-6 win Thursday.

Danny Muller had the best day at the plate for Plattsburgh (10-0) with two hits, including a homer and single, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Brian Greisman got the pitching victory, working seven innings and giving up four runs on seven hits and one walk. He struck out three batters.

The Thunderbirds had their best offensive output with a three-run sixth, highlighted by an RBI double from Drake Sykes.

The Bucks (1-8) cut their deficit to one run in the eighth inning, thanks to an RBI sacrifice fly by Jordan Matos that plated Tony Holton.

James Dockery notched three singles for New York, and Robbie Kellerman recorded a home run.

Plattsburgh and the Bucks are back at it today with a matchup slated to start at noon at Lefty Wilson Field.
