North Stars to clash with Yard Dogs

SAUQUOIT — The Plattsburgh North Stars (0-1) will look to rebound from their season-opening loss when they travel to take on the Utica Yard Dogs (1-0) at 7 p.m. today in an Empire Football League showdown at Sauquoit Stadium.

The Yard Dogs began their season with a dominant 87-0 victory over the Seaway Valley Venom July 7.

Utica jumped out to a fast start against the Venom, scoring 37 points in the first quarter before adding 27 more ahead of the halftime whistle.

The North Stars dropped a 26-20 decision to the Hudson Valley Mountaineers a week ago today.

Plattsburgh quarterback Harry Rascoe threw for just over 300 yards and added two touchdown passes to Tory Bouyea and one more to Dexter Geohagan in the contest.

Following their game against the Yard Dogs, the North Stars will be back home to take on Seaway Valley July 21 at Melissa L. Penfield Park.
