Expos edge A’s, 6-4, in abbreviated game

BEEKMANTOWN — The Meron’s Expos came away with a 6-4 win against the 4th Ward Athletics Thursday in Champlain Valley Baseball League action.

The game was called due to darkness after 5.5 innings.

Mike Bordeau blasted a homer and also recorded a double to lead the Expos, while Bryce Gautreau notched a double and single.

Meron’s took the lead for good with a four-run third inning.

Expos pitcher Mike Bergman worked the entire game and surrendered four runs on six hits and no walks. He fanned four batters.

Russell Gallo III finished with a double and single in the 4th Ward lineup.

LYON MOUNTAIN — Aaron Goldfarb’s single in the bottom of the fifth inning scored Ryan Criss and helped the Miners battle to a tie with the Rockies.

The game was called in the top of the sixth inning due to darkness and thunderstorms.

Goldfarb went 2-for-2 with two RBIs to lead Lyon Mountain.

Connor Coty laced two hits including a double for the Miners, while Criss scored twice and singled.

Kris Chase and Ethan King added hits.

Brad Fleury went the distance on the mound for Lyon Mountain, allowing just three hits, one earned run and five walks. He fanned two in five innings.

Brayden LaValley, Marcus Lefebvre and Caleb Keysor had base knocks for the Rockies.
