Chazy soccer practice to begin Monday
CHAZY — Soccer practices for Chazy Central School will begin on Monday. Junior varsity boys, varsity boys and junior varsity girls will all begin at 9 a.m. Varsity girls, however, will begin at 8 a.m.
All athletes or parents bringing their athletes to practice are asked to park on the south side of the George Brendler Soccer Field. There will be no access to the school parking lot due to the construction taking place.
Riverside leagues to meet next week
AUSABLE FORKS — The Riverside Lanes leagues will hold their fall meetings next week, at 7 p.m. at the bowling house.
The leagues will meet next week on their night of bowling, with the exception of the Tuesday league, which will meet Aug. 24.

North Country holding Ladies Golf Clinic
ROUSES POINT — North Country Golf Club will offer a Ladies Golf Clinic starting Aug. 23.
There will be sessions from 5-6:30 p.m. on Aug. 23, 26 and 30 and Sept. 2. The lessons will be given by Dustin Beauregard and his professional assistants. Cost will be $150 and will cover six hours of instruction on fundamentals, including etiquette, rules, full swing and short game.

North Country Handicap League to meet
PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Handicap Bowling League will hold its oranizational meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 24 at North Bowl Lanes. The meeting is open to the returning team captains or a representative of the team.

North Country Youth Hockey sign-up set
ROUSES POINT — North Country Youth Hockey will be holding registration for the 2010-11 season on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Rouses point Rec Center. Members are asked to register players with USA Hockey prior to attending registration.

Soccer coaching clinic Sept. 1
PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau will hold a National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) Introduction to Coaching Youth Sports Certification Clinic for all Youth Soccer Coaches on Sept. 1. The clinic will be held at the Youth Bureau Offices at 133 Margaret Street in the Old Courthouse Building from 5-8 p.m.
The program covers the areas of psychology of coaching youth sports, maximizing athletic performance, first aid and safety, how to organize a fun and interesting practice and tips on teaching youth sports techniques. Coaches are required to complete an exam, sign a Code of Ethics Pledge and pay a $20 fee (check or money order only, payable to NYSCA).
Membership benefits include $1,000,000 Excess Liability Insurance, Youth Sport Coach — a NYSCA publication, and an official NYSCA membership card. Pre-Registration is required.

First Youth Bureau soccer clinic today
PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau will hold free instructional soccer clinics for players ages 6-14. Coaches are encouraged to bring their entire teams. Participants are asked to wear comfortable, soccer appropriate footwear; cleats are not required but will be permitted, and shin guards are encouraged.

Budweiser horseshoe tourney Sunday
WEST PLATTSBURGH — The 2010 Budweiser Horseshoe Tournament will be held Sunday, August 15, at American Legion Post 1619. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers, as well as cash prizes.
