PLATTSBURGH — The cause of a fire at Pactiv is under investigation.

The City Fire Department was dispatched to the food service and packaging company at 12:57 p.m. and arrived three minutes later, City Fire Department Capt. Terry Feazelle said.

”There was fire on the second landing on the exterior of the machine and we were able to douse it relatively quickly.”

No one was injured, Feazelle said.

”It was in a tough location to extinguish but we were able to quickly bring it under control,” Feazelle said. “We were able to extinguish the fire with the personnel who were working and no one was called in.”

The Fire Department was back in service at 1:22 p.m.

FELONY ARRESTS

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was arrested March 5 for allegedly stealing more than 80 DVDs.

A woman told police on Feb. 4 that Brandon M. Anderson, 20, took 83 DVDs from her father’s residence, Chazy-based State Police said.

The alleged theft happened at an earlier date, police said.

Anderson was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and was released on an appearance ticket for Plattsburgh Town Court on March 14.

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was arrested Feb. 28 on felony charges associated with check forgery.

Jenilee Gillespie, 30, allegedly stole checks from a man who reported the incident to police on Dec. 27, 2012, Chazy-based State Police said.

Gillespie was charged with nine counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and second-degree forgery, both felonies.

She was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond, police said.

Gillespie is due back in court March 14, police said.
