Scenes from the North Country: Cat's Meow Thrift Shoppe mural

Members of the Clinton County Health Department took a more colorful approach to public health recently, helping paint a mural in Downtown Plattsburgh.

Through the Operation: Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper grant program, the health department, funded by the New York State Health Foundation, awarded local groups and businesses up to $8,000 to promote fun health projects in the community such as murals or gardens.

As part of the program, the Cat’s Meow Thrift Shoppe on Bridge Street was awarded grant funding to have a mural painted on the side of its building, with assistance from the Outside Art: Plattsburgh Public Art Project.
