A Plattsburgh woman was injured Saturday after she became ill while driving on New York Road near Sharron Avenue.

Plattsburgh-based State Police said Barbara M. Parkinson, 51, was southbound when she went into diabetic shock at about 12:52 p.m.

She went partially unconscious, left the southwest side of the road and struck a tree, a light post and a sign, police said.

Parkinson was transported to CVPH Medical Center with diabetic shock as well as back and neck pain.

She was treated and later released. No additional information was available Sunday.
