PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was arrested Thursday following an alleged domestic incident.

At about 3 p.m. at 116 Court St. Wednesday, Nick Furnia, 24, was engaged in an argument with his girlfriend, Plattsburgh City Police said.

Furnia allegedly broke his girlfriend’s cellphone and a flat-screen television and also threw a television remote at her, which hit her in the back, police said.

Furnia also allegedly pinned her up against a wall and refused to let her go and put her in a headlock, restricting her breathing, police said.

The woman refused medical treatment, police said.

Furnia was arrested and was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment second, a misdemeanor; fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor; third-degree criminal mischief, a felony; third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor; and obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor.

He was being held Thursday evening at the Plattsburgh City Police station for arraignment.
