A Plattsburgh man was arrested Sunday morning in connection with a domestic dispute here.
Plattsburgh-based State Police said William A. Jabaut, 46, assaulted his wife, who they believe has an order of protection against him.
The incident was reported around 12:57 a.m.
Jabaut was arrested around 6 a.m. and charged with first-degree criminal contempt with physical contact, a felony, and third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury, a misdemeanor.
Jabaut was arraigned Sunday in the Town of Beekmantown Court before Justice Russell Lawliss and sent to Clinton County Jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.
He is scheduled to reappear today.
Benoit was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and ticketed for moving from her lane unsafely.
