PLATTSBURGH — An Ellenburg Center teen was arrested Saturday for allegedly selling marijuana.

The 14-year-old male, whose name was not released due to his youthful offender status, is accused of possessing 40 grams of the substance and selling it to another minor, according to a news release from the Clinton County Sheriffs Office.

The youthful offender was arrested at 5:55 p.m. and charged with second-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a class D felony, and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint originating from an area school district, the release said.

The teen was issued a ticket to appear in Family Court and is scheduled to appear at Clinton County Probation at a later date.
