Three people were injured Sunday afternoon, including two children, in a one-car accident on the Northway.
William J. Perkins, 62, of Saranac was northbound on Interstate 87 in a 2002 Chevy sedan at about 1:42 p.m. when he attempted to pass another northbound vehicle, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.
During the attempted pass, Perkins crossed into the driving lane of the other vehicle, overcorrected, and then drove off the east shoulder of the road, striking a tree.
Police said Perkins suffered a "fractured or dislocated shoulder and/or upper arm" and was transported to CVPH Medical Center, where he was
Two children in the vehicle, ages 13 and 11, suffered minor cuts and bruises, police said.
No tickets were issued.
