CROWN POINT — Three were injured Nov. 14, 2013 in an accident involving a school bus and a motorcycle.
Shortly before 3:03 p.m., Ronald M. Ryan, 52, of Ticonderoga was driving a Crown Point Central School bus in the Town of Crown Point when he attempted to make a left-hand turn into a designated turn-around area for buses on Route 9N near Aubrey Sanders Road, State Police said.
Ryan did not have the bus’s yellow or red flashing lights turned on but did have the left turn signal on, police said.
Edward A. Woodruff, 67, of Westport was driving a motorcycle behind the school bus and he attempted to pass it in a no-passing zone after failing to observe the bus’s turn signal, police said.
Woodruff struck the bus and was ejected from his motorcycle, police said.
He was taken to Moses-Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga.
Two passengers on the bus, Melissa S. Stoddard, 35, of Crown Point and Susan M. Strieble, 59, of Crown Point were also taken to Moses-Ludington Hospital, police said.
There were two children riding in the bus who were uninjured and released into the custody of their parents at the accident site, police said.
