MASSENA — An arrest has been made in connection with a stolen tractor, according to State Police.
Mikle N. Lavare, 26, of Nicholville was arrested Thursday and charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony, as well as for making a punishable false written statement, as misdemeanor, said State Police.
The arrest stems from an investigation into a stolen Kubota tractor, which still has not been located, State Police said. They believe that they buyer is from Vermont, and that he met Lavare in Ellenburg in order to purchase the tractor on December 5, State Police said. They added that the buyer may be unaware that the tractor was stolen.
According to State Police, Lavare was interviewed following the December theft of the tractor and allegedly provided them with a false statement initially.
Following his arrest, Lavare was arraigned in the Town of Massena Court where he was released under the supervision of probation, State Police said. They added that Lavare is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Massena Court on January 22.
