FORT COVINGTON — A Norfolk woman was charged Dec. 5 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and driving while ability impaired.
On the afternoon of Dec. 5, State Police were dispatched to Route 37 in the Town of Fort Covington for a report of a vehicle that was off the roadway, State Police said.
Linda M. Dafoe’s license was found to be suspended and she was taken to the State Police barracks in Malone for an evaluation by a drug recognition expert, police said.
The drug recognition expert concluded that the 54-year-old had been driving while impaired by drugs, police said, and she was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone so police could get a blood sample.
Results of her blood test are pending the return of the lab analysis, police said.
Dafoe was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, and DWAI drugs, a misdemeanor, police said.
She was also ticketed for failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of a change of address, having an uninspected motor vehicle and moving from lane unsafely, police said.
