WEST CHAZY — A West Chazy man who barricaded himself inside his residence last week has now been arrested in connection with that, State Police said Tuesday.

Anthony J. Panetti was arrested, 54, was charged Monday, Jan. 27, with two counts of second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.

On Jan. 19, Panetti barricaded himself inside his home on Academy Street and made threats to harm responding law-enforcement officers, State Police said. He was taken into custody after about 10 hours when he voluntarily walked out of his residence.

The standoff drew State Police Troop B crisis negotiators and Special Operations Response Team, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Border Patrol.

Panetti was arraigned in Chazy Town Court and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is due back in court on Feb. 11.
