A Chateaugay woman is facing felony charges for allegedly driving while intoxicated Friday night.
After a vehicle stop on Route 374, police reportedly smelled alcohol on 48-year-old Bernice Duquette's breath. She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a felony, and was subjected to a field sobriety test. After conducting the test, she was charged with operation of a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 to 0.10 percent with a prior charge and driving while intoxicated with a previous charge in the past 10 years, both felonies. She was also charged with a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.
She was arraigned before Town of Dannemora Justice Thomas Douglass and remanded to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. She is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Dannemora Court at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
