Vermont police say a security guard who claimed he was robbed at the Charlotte ferry dock is facing charges he staged the robbery with two other men.

Police say 20-year-old Patrick Risley was arrested Friday on charges stemming from the Thursday morning robbery.

Risley had told police he was robbed by two men wearing ski masks.

Police say Risley, 19-year-old Shawn Cochran and 23-year-old Matthew Duval, all of Milton, planned the robbery and agreed to split the money three ways.

Police say 80 percent of the money was recovered.

All three men are being held at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility in South Burlington. They're due in court Monday.
