PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENTS 

DANNEMORA — A Dannemora man is in critical condition after an ATV accident here Nov. 10, State Police say.

Troopers responded to the reported crash on State Route 374 and found Devin C. Barber, 25.

An investigation found that Barber had lost control of a 2008 Yamaha Grizzly ATV while driving it northwest on the road, a press release said, and rolled the vehicle.

He was ejected and sustained a head injury.

Barber was initially brought to the University of Vermont Health Network Champlain, Valley Physician’s Hospital but was later brought to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, the release added.

This crash remains under investigation.

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was injured in a one-car accident here Nov. 4.

Keith R. Cressey, 63, was driving a 2019 Toyota Camry on Interstate 87 when the vehicle exited the west shoulder of the northbound lanes, went through the median, crossed both southbound lanes and left the road and came to a rest after striking a tree, State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman said.

Cressey was initially brought to CVPH to be treated for head, chest and back injuries before he was later brought to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington for further evalutation.

PLATTSBURGH — A two-car crash injured a West Chazy woman here Nov. 6, State Police say.

STRUCTURE FIRES

KEESEVILLE — Fire crews faced two blazes within two hours of each other.

At 8:27 p.m., Clinton County Dispatch put out a call for a reported structure fire at 10 Seneca Driver in Cumberland Head.

Though no one was at the home at the time, a resident could reportedly see the fire through a camera installed at the home.

Cumberland Head Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to that blaze with mutual aid requested from Beekmantown and South Plattsburgh fire departments.

By 8:52, the fire had reportedly been knocked down.

Then, at 10 p.m., a call went out for a fire at 49 Pine Street in Keeseville.

Clinton County Dispatch said the fire was originally reported as a chimney fire but that flames had entered the walls of the home.

Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched with mutual aid requested from Peru and Ausable Forks.

No further details were available for the fire at press time.

PLATTSBURGH — A two-car crash injured a West Chazy woman here Nov. 6, State Police say.

Morgan Sovey, 20, of Plattsburgh, was driving a 2019 Hyundai Sante Fe north on Smithfield Boulevard and attempted to turn left onto Bank Street, Fleishman said.

At the same time, Deborah Spinner, 69, of West Chazy was driving a 2019 Buick southbound on Smithfield.

Sovey failed to notice Spinner, Fleishman said, causing her vehicle to collide with Spinner’s.

Both cars were damaged extensively and had to be towed away, Fleishman added.

Spinner reported an injury to her hand, but she was not brought to the hospital.

BURKE — A Burke woman was rear-ended while she slowed down due to a separate accident here Nov. 8, State Police say.

Judy A. Tavernier, 64, was slowing her 2010 Suzuki due to an accident at the intersection of US Route 11 and State Route 122 when a 2005 GMC Sierra struck the back of the vehicle, Fleishman said.

The Sierra was being driven by Courtney E. Johnston, 17, also of Burke, who had been following too closely and was unable to stop, Fleishman added.

Tavernier’s passenger, Jonathan F. Tavernier, 13, of Bangor, was the only one injured.

He was brought to the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone to be treated for neck pain.
