PLATTSBURGH — New York State Police arrested 41-year-old Chad R. Trombley, of Morrisonville, for allegedly forging a victim’s signature on documents.
He was charged on Monday with two counts of second-degree forgery.
Trombley, who is a member of the New York State Police and was off-duty at the time, was arraigned in the Town of Saranac Court and was released on his own recognizance.
PLATTSBURGH — A Dannemora man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
According to State Police, Derrick T. Finnessey, 25, of Dannemora, was stopped around 1:15 a.m. after he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign in Consumer Square in the Town of Plattsburgh.
The vehicle also had inadequate plate lamps, according to police.
Finnessey was arrested for DWI.
His blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.22 percent.
Finnessey was charged with felony DWI, due to previous DWI convictions in the preceding 10 years.
He was also charged with felony aggravated DWI and further ticketed for inadequate plate lamps, failure to stop at a stop sign, operating with an inspection certificate, and failure to notify DMV of an address change.
Finnessey was released to appear at the Town of Plattsburgh Court.
MORIAH — A Witherbee woman was seriously hurt in an all-terrain-vehicle accident last Friday.
According to New York State Police, Billie Jo A. Fleming, 41, of Witherbee, was a passenger on an ATV driven by William F. Smith, 44, also of Witherbee, when it was involved in a crash on Bartlett Pond Road in the Town of Moriah around 7:52 p.m.
An investigation revealed that a 1996 Yamaha Timber Wolf, operated by Smith, 44, with Fleming on board, was travelling east on Bartlett Pond Road and had struck a 2013 Suzuki King Quad, operated by Francis J. Gagnon, 58, also of Witherbee, while Gagnon was parked.
Smith and Fleming were ejected from their four-wheeler and landed on the ground.
Fleming was flown to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont where she was in critical but stable condition.
Smith was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.
He declined a medical evaluation, police said.
Smith was charged with DWI, second-degree vehicular assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, as well as several vehicle and traffic law citations, police said.
He was arraigned in the Town of Moriah Court where he was remanded to the Essex County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail, or $30,000 bond.
The case remains under investigation.
