FELONY ARRESTS 

CONSTABLE — A Constable man was charged with grand larceny in his home here June 27.

James G. Palmer, 32, was charged with misuse of food stamps, a misdemeanor, and third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

He was arraigned in Malone Town Court in front of Justice Charles Robert and was released under the supervision of Franklin County Probation, State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman said.

He is scheduled to reappear in court Aug. 20.

MALONE — A Malone woman received charges for five felony counts here July 1, State Police say.

Karrie Pesko, 43, was arrested pursuant to a warrant of arrest, Fleishman said, and charged with one count of third-degree grand larceny, two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, one count of third-degree grand larceny and one count of misuse of food stamps, all felonies.

Pesko was arraigned in Malone Town Court in front of Justice Steven Stone before being released on her own recognizance.

She is scheduled to reappear Sept. 9.

MALONE — An Owl’s Head man was charged with seven welfare fraud-related felony counts here July 2, State Police say.

Jeremy Monette, 45, was charged with three counts each of fourth-degree welfare fraud and first-degree first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, as well as one count of fourth-degree grand larceny, all felonies, Fleishman said.

He was arraigned in Malone Town Court and released on his own recognizance.

He’s scheduled to reappear Aug. 20.

 

SARANAC — A Saranac woman was charged with a felony following a traffic stop here July 5, State Police say.

A 2013 Subaru Legacy was travelling west on State Route 3, Fleishman said, when a trooper initiated a traffic stop for inadequate exhaust and moving from lane unsafely.

The trooper found that the driver, Sharon B. Sloan, 50, allegedly had a revoked NYS driver’s license and was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent following a breath test.

Sloan was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, and second-degree unlicensed operation and driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors, as well as several traffic infractions.

She was arraigned in Saranac Town Court and placed on pre-trial release, Felishman said.

Sloan is scheduled to reappear in court July 22.
